- ➤ Metro-North trains now charge an extra $2 for onboard ticket purchases and Connecticut travelers must use unlimited day passes instead of round-trip tickets; the new policy took effect on Sunday as part of the MTA's plan to improve service and address rising costs. WFSB

- ➤ Experts say the drug-resistant fungus Candida auris may already be in Connecticut as local health officials take precautions, despite only eight clinical cases being reported from 2016 to 2023. Healthy residents are advised to follow standard hygiene practices. CTPost
