EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Board of Education presented the 2026-27 school budget at Staples High School and is set to vote later this month or early February on spending $7.63 million on facilities upgrades at eight schools while planning to add an assistant director role to boost security and operations.  06880
  • Westport schools will cancel classes for a traditional snow day during a storm expected to hit beginning Sunday, since officials do not use online learning for weather closures. The district will alert families by Sunday if Monday is canceled — emphasizing safety and routine.  The Hour
