CIVIC NEWS

  • Westport residents are invited to share views on the 143-year-old Cribari Bridge’s future via an 8-question survey ahead of the March 19 Town Hall meeting with the state DOT (current residents only); survey results will be posted on Friday.  06880

CULTURE NEWS

  • Orchestras are celebrating Connecticut Orchestra Month with 48 concerts in 19 towns this month (including March 7 shows at Greenwich Performing Arts Center and the Palace Theater) to bring classical music to local audiences.  Westport Journal

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Connecticut drivers face rising gas prices above $3 a gallon linked to conflict in Iran, and experts warn that prices will jump 10 to 30 cents per gallon in the coming weeks.  WFSB

EDUCATION NEWS

  • More than 300 community members, including educators and a student, testified before the Connecticut Education Committee on Wednesday as lawmakers considered a bill to raise school funding. The measure would provide an extra $1,000 per student next year for four years (with inflation adjustments starting in 2031) and has bipartisan support.  WFSB
