  • Connecticut restaurants will raise lobster roll prices this summer as a reduced supply and high demand push costs higher & some Westport eateries continue offering more affordable options. Chef Martha Stewart said her new restaurant at Foxwoods will not serve the pricey $60 roll at its ribbon cutting.  The Hour

CULTURE NEWS

  • Westport Country Playhouse will stage the Pulitzer Prize winning play 'Primary Trust' from April 14 to May 2. Directed by Logan Vaughn, the production explores themes of friendship + change as a laid off man finds new courage.  The Hour
  • Connecticut fans can view Banksy’s murals at Foolproof Brewing Company in Bridgeport. The brewery acquired the controversial 'Ghetto 4 Life' mural in 2024 and will display 'The Tagging Robot' from a Brooklyn family sale this spring.  The Hour

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Fairfield Nature Center will offer a Plant and Wild Edibles series on three Saturdays — Mar. 28, Apr. 11, and Apr. 18 — from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Joe Ross from Eat the Planet will lead the course that teaches locals to identify and use wild edible plants.  Westport Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • UConn head coach Geno Auriemma was named a finalist for the Naismith Women’s College Coach of the Year on Wednesday as his team entered the NCAA Sweet 16 with a 36—0 record. Players Sarah Strong and Azzi Fudd also became finalists for the Naismith Trophy at Gampel Pavilion.  The Hour
  • Former Masuk coach Steve Christy, who finished with a 27-10 record (including a state title), was named head coach at Warde on Wednesday. He plans to lead the team toward a winning culture following a 5-5 season.  The Hour
  • UConn men’s basketball faces an important Sweet 16 test in their upcoming matchup with Michigan State. After a tough game where missed shots hurt Solo Ball — coach Dan Hurley said the team will rely on confidence to advance, their focus now sharper than ever.  The Hour
  • The 63rd JCC Schoolboy/Schoolgirl Classic is set for Saturday at Staples High School with the East/West girls game at noon and the Connecticut boys facing New Jersey at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $15 and can be bought via Venmo (@JCCBBALL) or at the door.  The Hour
