EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Staples High School junior Kevin Cano launched Campus Flyer, a free website that connects local students with job, internship and volunteer opportunities in Fairfield County — the platform allows students to create profiles and employers to post detailed listings. Cano developed the site after having difficulty finding summer work, and local businesses are encouraged to post openings to help fill staffing needs. 06880
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Town officials said a planned April 3 field trip to view the Sherwood Island Connector site for a proposed consolidated public safety complex was cancelled — a new date will be set soon. Westport Journal
- ➤ The Board of Selectwomen approved a long-term easement for a covered dumpster to be placed on designated days in the Parker Harding lot behind J. Crew during its Main St store remodeling—J. Crew must use only two parking spaces and notify police when the dumpster is brought in. The construction project is expected to last about seven months, and the permit is valid through November 2025 under strict safety and debris rules. Westport Journal
