Good morning, Westport. Here's your local news at a glance for Sunday, the 6th of April.
COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ On April 3, TEAM Westport met to discuss a rise in local antisemitic incidents — concerns that emerged ahead of singer Patti Smith’s VersoFest appearance at the Westport Library that evening; a protest by #EndJewHatred occurred at 5:45 p.m. outside the library amid reports of hate-speech incidents in schools. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Last December, Weston History & Culture Center (WHCC) received a $25,000 grant to create the planned exhibit Weston at Work in Coley Barn, but the Department of Government Efficiency cancelled it last Wednesday as it repurposed its funds for a new direction. The cancellation has forced WHCC to raise an additional $75,000 to complete the project (its planned opening in October is now uncertain) since it relies solely on grants, donations, memberships, and sponsorships. 06880
