- ➤ Yesterday, Westport hosted several events — VersoFest included a graffiti workshop by 5iveFingaz, a loud library record, and a Springsteen panel; Sweet P Bakery expanded its cookie order to Yankee Stadium and the town held a wake for retired Police Chief Ron Malone. Today, VersoFest closes at 11 a.m. and upcoming events include a Tulip Bulb sculpture dedication on April 13 at Grace Salmon Park, a free Easter egg hunt on April 19 at Long Lots Elementary, and the Taste of Westport fundraiser on June 5 with tickets on sale from April 14 — Voices Café also featured a performance by Dustin Lowman as Westport recalls the first Tony Awards in 1947. 06880
- ➤ myTeam Triumph is a nonprofit that helps people with disabilities join races, triathlons, swims and other endurance events by pairing them with volunteer companions. It will host an informal Warmup Run and Picnic at Compo Beach on April 13 at 11 a.m.—the Minute Man Race will follow on April 27. 06880

- ➤ A car barreled through a wooden sound barrier near exit 16 on I-95 south in Westport on April 6th—injuring several people—and causing extensive damage to the barrier. WFSB

- ➤ On Saturday morning, Westport Library hosted VersoFest — Loudest Library in History where artist 5iveFingaz led eight DJs and community members painted a mural urging love. The lively event shattered the quiet library mold and set a fun sound record. Westport Journal
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Connecticut State Library said this week that a federal grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services was cut, leaving more than half of the over $2 million unsent and hurting library programs — like early literacy, summer reading, help for veterans, interlibrary loans, digital help and jobs for 13 staff.
