- ➤ Westport police are investigating a hacking of a Zoom meeting Monday night that forced officials to cancel a public hearing on the Saugatuck Hamlet project—police say the cyberattack most likely came from overseas. Westport Journal
- ➤ Westport police raided Savvy Smoker on Post Road East Tuesday and seized marijuana products including pre-rolled cigarettes and THC merchandise amid an investigation of unlicensed sales and zoning violations—this latest raid marks the shop's fourth enforcement action. Westport Journal
- ➤ A New York man, David McMillian, 60, was arrested in Westport on March 20 for using a stolen ID to try withdrawing money from a resident’s bank account — he faces charges of identity theft, larceny attempt and illegal possession of a personal identification device, and his next court appearance is set for May 9. - ➤ Marissa Gillett’s nomination for a second term as PURA chairman was approved in the house chamber today with a vote of 91—52 amid divided support. The Senate will review her nomination next week along with commissioner David Arconti’s reappointment. WFSB
- ➤ Westport Historic District Commission members asked owners of the 1830 house at 8 Newtown Turnpike to delay demolition for 180 days so they can meet with officials and explore preservation options—one option being to divide the 0.75-acre lot to add a second home behind the original, though a builder noted the poor condition and layout may complicate efforts.
