- ➤ For nearly 10 years, the Interfaith Refugee Resettlement Committee has helped Afghan and Syrian families find housing, healthcare and language lessons—support that includes local churches. After a federal cut paused aid from another group, the committee quickly stepped in to welcome a new Afghan family. 06880
- ➤ Westport residents remain divided on the Hamlet at Saugatuck project as two petitions circulate—one in favor of enhancing the waterfront and one asking for a 40% reduction in scope—while criticism of Long Lots Elementary School plans focuses on tree removal and a new brook entrance that could endanger special needs children. In addition, the Original Pancake House has closed, Tommy Greenwald published a new book today, and upcoming events include a free egg hunt on Saturday, Jazz at the Post on Thursday, a Touch-a-Truck fundraiser on May 3, a Big Spring Book Sale from May 16 to 19, and a play reading on May 5. 06880

- ➤ Attorney Darnell Crosland filed a motion Tuesday to drop criminal contempt charges against Michelle Troconis because the state did not show all parts needed in the law—he said the charges go too far as she is not blamed for the disappearance and presumed death of Jennifer Dulos—and she is set to appear in court on April 21. - ➤ The Pizza Capital Pizza Trail is asking Westport residents to vote for the top 100 pizzerias in Connecticut with voting that opened on March 14 and runs until May 1—each person can vote once daily for up to 10 restaurants. CT marketing director Anthony Anthony said the contest lets fans share their favorite spots while celebrating the state’s passion for pizza. News 12 Connecticut

- ➤ The state DOT has invited the Cribari Bridge Project Advisory Committee to a closed meeting at 4 p.m. May 15th at Town Hall’s auditorium to provide updates on the bridge’s progress and next steps. Public input will be offered later this summer — DOT officials expect to finish the environmental evaluation by late fall while the design phase has not begun. Westport Journal
