ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Rare Comet R3, visible 90 minutes before sunrise in Pegasus today, has brightened its tail since its September discovery; astronomers expect it to pass the sun on April 19-20 before coming closest to Earth on April 26-27 and then be seen only from the Southern Hemisphere. News 12 Connecticut
- ➤ Connecticut’s Department of Energy & Environmental Protection warned that despite warm spring air drawing crowds during spring break in the area, water temperatures remain cold until June, putting swimmers at risk; officials stressed that life jackets are required until May 31 to prevent accidental cold water shock.
