- ➤ Executive Director Mike Donoghue of Catholic Charities of Fairfield County spoke on News 12 this morning to talk about how the group runs food programs—soup kitchens, food pantries and meal deliveries for seniors. - ➤ Westport neighbors have many events coming up—Farmers’ Market returns May 8 with vendors and music, an artificial turf ordinance meeting is set for May 13 at Town Hall, youth track meets begin May 4 at Staples High, and American Colors holds its grand opening on May 1 with food and raffle prizes. Some residents near DOT work on Post Road East worry as dozens of trees were cut for a new maintenance facility behind Walgreens. 06880

- ➤ Brandon Sullo, 22, from Hamden was charged on April 14 with multiple counts of larceny for stealing tires and wheel rims from Westport Honda and Toyota dealerships last fall—he will be arraigned on May 5 at state Superior Court in Stamford. Westport Journal

- ➤ Voices Café in Westport will host a tribute concert to legendary folk musicians Peter, Paul and Mary on May 10th at 8 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation (10 Lyons Plains Road), where veteran folk singers will perform and share their experiences through song. Westport Journal

- ➤ Peter Gold, the Transit District director, urged residents to email RTM members after the Board of Finance cut funding for Wheels2U, which will end the door-to-train service on June 30—RTM committees will meet on April 21 and April 22 and a full vote on May 2 will decide if funding is restored. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ In March, inspections by Aspetuck Health District found nine food establishments in Westport, Weston and Easton had serious violations that must be corrected within 72 hours—issues included improper food temperatures, sanitation lapses and unsafe chemical storage.
