  • Debra Kandrak launched her 'Paint the Town Yellow' campaign in October 2019 after starting a memory garden to honor lost loved ones. The campaign gained support from residents, business owners, and town officials and now fills Westport each spring with thousands of daffodils — a tribute to those remembered, including Staples High School senior Max Harper.  06880

CULTURE NEWS

  • Levitt Pavilion in Westport will expand its 2025 lineup by adding free musical performances and ticketed events—new acts include Dogs in a Pile on June 20 at 7:30 p.m., Disco Biscuits on June 28 at 6:30 p.m., Michael Franti and Spearhead with Allen Stone on July 13 at 5 p.m., and The Wood Brothers on Aug. 10 at 6 p.m. Early bird ticket prices for some events will end soon.  Westport Journal

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The annual Lyrid meteor shower peaks tonight into April 22 over Connecticut with 10 to 20 meteors per hour visible in the northwest sky. Viewers should watch before dawn and dress warmly (temperatures will be in the 40s overnight).  CTPost
