- ➤ The Tree Board will give away free witch hazel, ninebark, and a blackgum tree this Friday behind Town Hall (110 Myrtle Ave) as part of an Arbor Day tradition. Recipients can pick up the tubelings for their gardens in a program running for over 10 years. Westport Journal
- ➤ Staples High School senior Jonathan Dobin-Smith shows how volunteer work with Circle of Friends brings the community together to support neurodiverse children each month – he encourages families to join before the Evening of Recognition on Sunday, May 3. 06880

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Connecticut public utilities regulators approved a rate decrease for Eversource and UI residential customers that will lower bills by about $30 and $34 respectively, effective May 1 through April 30 — Gov. Ned Lamont will announce the decision in a 2 p.m. press conference today at the State Capitol. WFSB
- ➤ Registration for the Basic Rider Course, needed to obtain a motorcycle endorsement, will open the first week in May at several CT State Community College campuses including one in Westport.
