- ➤ Connecticut ferry operators are adding fuel surcharges as gas prices rise amid global tensions. The Bridgeport Port Jefferson Ferry raised its fueling fee by 4.5% while Cross Sound Ferry uses a floating rate now at 7.7%; both will review changes weekly — riders in Bridgeport receive advance notice. - ➤ Warby Parker will open its ninth Connecticut store on May 2 at Westport Row retail center (1,721 sqft) as the eyewear retailer expands locally. The new location is anchored by Fresh Market and Ethan Allen. The Hour

- ➤ A Taste of Ukraine event will run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 26 at Ashlar Aspetuck Lodge No. 42 in Easton (hosted by Westport artist Mark Yurkiw) where he will present on Ukraine’s crisis while attendees sample pierogi and desserts and donate $30 to support medical aid. - ➤ Leslie Odom Jr. will perform Hamilton songs and reimagined pop favorites at Grace Farms in New Canaan on Sept. 26 — presale tickets go on sale May 4 and general tickets on May 18. The Hour
- ➤ Westport Country Playhouse is showing the Pulitzer Prize winning play Primary Trust, which explores themes of isolation & neurodiversity. The production, featuring performances by Alphonso Walker Jr. & Jasminn Johnson, runs through May 2 and receives enhanced lighting & sound by Jonah Bobilin & Andrea Allmond. 06880

- ➤ Next Monday, April 27 at 6 p.m. on Zoom, the Planning & Zoning Commission will review a pre-application for a fenced dog area in Winslow Park & consider separate sections for small and large dogs to enhance local pet amenities. 06880
- ➤ Connecticut lawmakers approved a House bill that boosts the state’s power to buy vaccines and affirms a law that ended religious exemptions for school vaccinations. The Senate will review the measure later this week as officials address federal changes (including vaccine supply concerns). WFSB

- ➤ Residents can dispose of unwanted medications at the Westport Center for Senior Activities on April 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. as part of the DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day; only tablets, capsules and patches will be accepted (do not bring liquids, syringes, sharps or illicit drugs).
