- ➤ Westport Woman’s Club awarded $50,000 in community service grants to 19 nonprofits on April 24—groups addressing issues such as homelessness, family crises and food insecurity—and continued its annual tradition of supporting local services. Westport Journal
- ➤ Multiple events are shaping Westport this week: a Planning & Zoning meeting on Monday, April 28 at 6 p.m. at Town Hall—where ROAN Ventures will present an amended plan for the Hamlet project—will be followed by the Conservation Commission meeting on April 30 at 7 p.m. at Town Hall and an online Flood & Erosion Control Board meeting on May 6. The Representative Town Meeting will vote on the Board of Education budget May 5 and the town budget May 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall, while community actions include an ice bucket challenge to raise funds for youth mental health, the final day of the Compo Beach playground rebuild, and a Clean-up Day postponed to May 3. 06880

- ➤ Staples High boys tennis team started the season 6-0 but lost 4-3 to Greenwich on Thursday, marking its first defeat. - ➤ Staples High girls golf team is ranked fourth in state after a 4-1 start that included road wins on April 9th and 10th and three home victories at Longshore Golf Course after spring break.
