- ➤ Police say Catherine Grabarz, a 68-year-old from Milford, drove under the influence and crashed her black vehicle through a yard near Bradley Street and Compo Road South on Jan 26 at about 7:25 p.m.—she fled but was later found at Compo Beach, treated for minor injuries, and charged on May 2 with DUI and hit-and-run. - ➤ Jefferson Reyes-Castro, 25, from New York City is charged with third degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third degree larceny for stealing merchandise from Ulta Beauty on Feb. 21 — he will be arraigned on May 21 in Stamford after posting a $500 bond. Westport Journal

- ➤ Staples Players will present a new 80-minute adaptation of 'The Diary of Anne Frank' at Staples High School Black Box from May 21 to May 24 at 7 p.m.—all 8th graders will have in-school performances and a Holocaust survivor will join a post-show talkback on May 22 to share insights on this timely story of resilience. This production marks a fresh take on the classic tale with updated text and a focus on overcoming hate. 06880

- ➤ Seventeen high school students from Fairfield County were named National Merit Scholarship winners, with each receiving a $2,500 award after being chosen from over 15,000 finalists. A Westport student is among those selected by college admissions officers and school counselors. CTPost
