ECONOMY NEWS

  • Eversource has proposed a rate hike that could add $25 a month to electricity bills — storm costs may push the increase higher — affecting Westport residents as the utility reviews its plan.  CTPost

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Connecticut will ban alcohol at 10 state parks and beaches starting Memorial Day weekend — a rule put in place to curb misbehavior and promote safety that lasts until Aug. 17. The change affects locations including Rocky Neck State Park in Niantic.  WFSB

  • Connecticut players in the minor leagues saw several promotions and team changes as Memorial Day approaches. Former Masuk High star Nick Lorusso returned with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies along with other CT natives switching organizations (May 22 report).  The Hour
