GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State lawmakers struck down a provision on May 31 that would have allowed safe injection sites after Gov. Ned Lamont threatened to veto the bill if the measure remained; advocates, including Arya Pelletier & her mother Dita Bhargava from Greenwich who lost a 26-year-old to an overdose in 2018, say they will keep pushing for overdose prevention as similar sites in Canada saw a 35% drop in overdose deaths.  News 12 Connecticut
