Crews repaired downed overhead wires on Friday that had stranded 1,100 passengers on three trains on Thursday night—although there were some early delays on Saturday morning, Metro-North reported that trains were running on schedule by mid-morning.

The Staples High music department moved Westport’s beloved Pops concert into the school auditorium to avoid a storm threat—setting up a new sound system and re-staging the performance for 200 musicians—resulting in a flawless show enjoyed by all.

Niche ranked Connecticut’s top 10 public elementary schools and found they are all in three school districts in Fairfield County—New Canaan, Greenwich and Westport.
