- ➤ Officials have revoked or suspended 58 nursing licenses in Connecticut due to a fake degree scam that linked over 7,600 people nationwide—and they are investigating 69 more cases while some nurses reportedly knew of the fraud and others may not have. CTPost
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Connecticut lawmakers approved a special education bill that creates a $30 million SEED grant program and a High-Quality Special Education Incentive Grant to limit out-of-district placements—while the new state budget also funds a universal preschool plan to add 16,000 free childcare slots by 2030. Other proposals, including rules on cellphones in schools, later start times, teacher termination reform, and stronger AI oversight, did not pass and will be handled at the local level. CTPost

- ➤ State lawmakers failed to reach a deal on a bill that would restrict private equity companies from buying hospitals, leaving differences over oversight unresolved. Gov.
