- ➤ Lloyd Allen, longtime owner of Double L Market and local playwright, will debut his new musical 'Screen Time' at the Westport Library on July 20 — the show follows a bookworm and a coder as they navigate love in a digital age. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On June 9, Staples Tuition Grants awarded $400K in scholarships at Staples High School in Westport — recognizing 102 students based on financial need — in a ceremony where donors met the recipients. The Hour
- ➤ Superintendent Thomas Scarice announced today that the RTM approved building a new Long Lots Elementary School and a new Stepping Stones Preschool to replace aging facilities. The district said the new schools will offer safe, modern learning spaces — and more details on design and construction will be shared soon. 06880

- ➤ On Thursday, the Conservation Commission approved the Hamlet project in Saugatuck with 23 conditions that require floodproofing, emergency and maintenance plans, soil remediation, and continuous water treatment monitoring + state oversight to protect the Saugatuck River. The Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a special meeting on June 16 and close public comment on June 18 before starting a 65-day review period. Westport Journal
