GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont said on Monday that he will veto two bills passed by the legislature—one allowing striking workers to collect unemployment and one setting specific housing goals for towns—and he urged local governments to submit 5-year plans to address the state’s housing shortage.  WFSB
  • Gov. Lamont vetoed House Bill 5002 on Monday morning because it would have required towns to zone a fair share of units and removed parking rules for smaller apartments + he also rejected a bill that would give unemployment benefits to striking workers.  News 12 Connecticut
  • Governor Ned Lamont met with Homeland Security after the U.S. bombed Iran’s nuclear sites on Sunday to review potential threats. His emergency service team joined a call on Monday and state officials said they detected no new threats to Connecticut.  WFSB
