- ➤ Westport’s annual sidewalk sale runs Friday through Sunday as over 50 downtown merchants offer discounted summer goods on Main Street, Elm Street, Church Lane and Sconset Square. Additional retailers outside downtown will also show special displays and promotional pricing. Westport Journal
- ➤ On June 17th, twenty-four members of the Haberstroh team — including Westport resident Dan Orlovsky — played 100 holes in Hartford in pouring rain and raised over $450,000 for ALS charities including ALS TDI, Team Gleason, and Experience Camps, continuing a strong legacy of local advocacy. 06880
- ➤ Long Lots Elementary School will move ahead with plans for a new school without a referendum after only 71 signatures were received by the deadline, and Compo and Burying Hill beaches reopened yesterday after negative bacteria tests. - ➤ The Connecticut Blood Center has issued an urgent call for blood donations as supplies of O-negative and B-negative blood are down 27% from what hospitals need—especially with the July Fourth weekend near.
