- ➤ Norwalk police issued a Silver Alert after a mother reported her 15-year-old daughter, Kristhen Varela-Reyes, missing on July 8th—she is 5 feet 1 tall, weighs about 125 pounds, was seen in white Nike Air Force sneakers and gold jewelry, and may be with a friend in Bridgeport. WFSB

- ➤ Sarah Jessica Parker (known for her role as Carrie Bradshaw) will be honored at Westport Library’s BOOKED for the evening celebration on Sept.15. Tickets go on sale (Tuesday, Aug.12 at 10 a.m.) as the event recognizes her contributions to literature and media. CTPost

- ➤ Car tax bills were mailed across Connecticut this week and some drivers are paying less while others face higher charges under a new formula based on the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price. - ➤ Last night, the Planning & Zoning Commission in Westport debated the Hamlet at Saugatuck project as three commissioners favored it while four opposed it over issues such as design, traffic, and parking in relation to a 2022 text amendment. Commissioners will meet again on July 21 and may vote on the project then or on July 28—vote options include outright acceptance, rejection, or approval with conditions. 06880

- ➤ Officials warned that parked cars can heat up dangerously fast this summer, with 38 children dying annually from hot-car incidents nationwide and 7 in Connecticut since 1997—parents must check rear seats, lock vehicles properly, and call 911 if a child is left alone. WFSB
