- ➤ State officials have urged Westport residents to kill any spotted lanternflies they see and report each sighting immediately (use alcohol or hand sanitizer to destroy egg masses) because these pests can harm trees and crops. - ➤ At a Monday meeting the Westport Planning & Zoning Commission moved to deny the Hamlet project due to concerns over design, parking and waterfront access even though staff found the plan compliant with a 2022 amendment.
