- ➤ Gov. Lamont announced that starting in 2027, free or discounted child care will be offered to all Connecticut families, with costs capped at 7% of income for those earning over $100k. The state funded the program with a $300 million endowment that will grow from surplus investments—parents can attend listening sessions in September for more details— to help ease financial burdens.
