GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The State Bond Commission voted on Friday morning to approve a $155 million plan to lower electric bills by reducing the public benefits charge and funding low-income and electric vehicle programs. Officials said households could see savings of $10 to $15 a month starting as early as September — though the plan’s costs will eventually be repaid by taxpayers — and the vote marks the first step toward more affordable energy across the state.
