  • Westporters can now ride Wheels2U to the Farmers’ Market every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. via an app that works like Uber—new users get five free rides for door-to-door service that avoids parking issues.  Westport Journal
  • Discounted tickets are on sale for Shorefest 2025 at the Pavilion at Sherwood Island State Park on Sept. 5 from 6-9 p.m.—the event features food from Westfair Fish and Chips, live music by John Lamb, a silent auction with gift certificates, and dinner options of lobster, steak or salmon, with proceeds funding intern programs, tree plantings, dune restoration and the Nature Center.  Westport Journal

HEALTH NEWS

  • Westport resident Craig Melvin and his wife, Fox Sports anchor Lindsay Czarniak, will soon host a two-day fundraiser called the Bottoms Up Invitational Golf Tournament and Concert in honor of Melvin's late brother to support colorectal cancer research. The event, scheduled for September in Bridgeport and Norwalk, will build on last year's effort that raised $1.1 million for the Colorectal Cancer Alliance.  The Hour
