  • A technical glitch on Instagram delayed a live talk with candidate David Rosenwaks while the Parks & Rec department announced fall programs starting September 3 and the Westport Community Theatre unveiled its season of five new plays—featuring comedy, drama and modern classics. La Plage will close for the season after Labor Day, and other events include a planning meeting at Town Hall, a photography exhibit at the library, and local sports and music shows coming soon.  06880

  • Norwalk man Sergio Reyes-Cordero was sentenced to two years in prison after he dumped a Bridgeport woman’s body in Redding last year — he fled to Georgia before being extradited and pleaded guilty to moving a dead body without a permit and tampering with evidence.  The Hour

  • Daniel Cortright, a Bedford Middle School science teacher, was named Westport’s 2026 Teacher of the Year during the convocation at Staples High School on Monday + he will represent the district in the state Teacher of the Year competition this fall.  Westport Journal

  • Some insurers canceled homeowners' policies based on aerial roof photos showing cosmetic discoloration—despite state guidelines from March saying only material damage should trigger nonrenewal. Brown Roofing’s president Eddie Griffin said the practice has hurt contractors and forced homeowners to face unnecessary costs.  CTPost
