- ➤ Today the Westport League of Women Voters announced a program of events to help residents learn about candidates and issues for the upcoming election season. The events, including candidate talks and community forums, are scheduled from September 26 through October 28—offering residents a chance to join the discussions. 06880
- ➤ Westport community events are in full swing—Westport Uncorked is scheduled for Oct 16 at the Inn at Longshore, a new Le Pain Quotidien opens today at the Fresh Market plaza, and Westoberfest on Oct 4 features new family-friendly activities. Additional highlights include the Sherwood Mill Pond tidal gates renovation due for completion in May, ongoing work on the Saugatuck River docks, and a remembrance for longtime volunteer Diane Cady, who died recently. 06880

- ➤ Westport EMS will add two new ambulances by the start of next month as the upgraded vehicles replace older ones.
