- ➤ The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said the dry conditions keep the brush fire risk high in the southern half of Connecticut including Fairfield County. - ➤ Connecticut's governor declared a stage 2 drought advisory on Tuesday for parts of the state including Fairfield, Middlesex — and New Haven counties as low rainfall raised concerns over water supplies, farming and natural ecosystems. WFSB

- ➤ Planning and Zoning commissioners in Westport raised concerns over the Parker Harding Plaza redevelopment plan because it would remove 20 downtown parking spots and 40 at Parker Harding Plaza while also adding new walkways and riverfront access. Public works director Peter Ratkiewich said the changes were needed due to non-compliant parking conditions—he plans to ask commissioners to adjust the no-net-loss condition for the project. - ➤ Gov. Ned Lamont declared a Stage 2 drought advisory for Fairfield, Middlesex and New Haven counties as dry weather persisted through early fall. Residents are urged to conserve water while a cold front is expected to bring showers today. The Hour
