- ➤ The NTSB report said that poor engineering and inadequate testing caused the Titan submersible to implode near the Titanic wreck, killing all five on board including former Connecticut researcher Paul-Henri Nargeolet who once lived in Greenwich and Kent—OceanGate had ignored key safety warnings and used a carbon fiber hull that did not meet required strength standards. - ➤ Comet Lemmon, discovered earlier this year, is racing through our skies and will be visible in Westport early Saturday and Sunday mornings and Monday and Tuesday evenings with binoculars—its closest approach to Earth is set for Oct. 20 and Oct. 21 when it can be found near the Big Dipper. - ➤ The Connecticut Ballet announced dates and guest artists for its 41st annual show of The Nutcracker—Dec. 13 and 14 in Stamford and Dec. 20 and 21 in Hartford. Top dancers from leading ballet companies and live music in Hartford will boost the holiday shows—tickets are on sale. CT Insider

- ➤ Staples High School senior Gunnar Eklund shared how joining the debate team and local campaigns helps him and his peers learn key civic skills such as research, speaking, and teamwork.
