- ➤ Today, Westporters walked and biked in a 'Walk and Talk' event organized by Bike Westport to promote safer and more connected streets—first selectman candidates joined by signing a pledge to support improvements. The group started at Jesup Green, crossed local bridges along Riverside Avenue, and ended at Kneads with coffee and treats before a Wheels2U ride returned them to their vehicles. 06880
- ➤ Don O’Day told Westport Community Garden members that unanimous planning decisions cleared the way to build a new school and athletic field on the current garden site at 13 Hyde Lane—promising that once construction begins, the Parks and Recreation Director will work with community representatives to secure a new garden. He reiterated his commitment to meeting the garden’s needs through this future project. Westport Journal

- ➤ Today, families celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights, as they light oil lamps, enjoy fireworks and sweets, and pray to mark the victory of good over evil.
