Good morning, Westport. Here's your local news at a glance for Sunday, the 26th of October.

BUSINESS NEWS

  • CT mechanics reported that more cars are suffering from mice and squirrel damage as the animals chew wiring and leave droppings, with one vehicle so infested it was declared a health hazard by its insurer—experts blame plant-based wire insulation and fewer natural predators for the rise. They advise car owners to take steps to block rodent entry and avoid costly repairs.  CTPost

SPORTS NEWS

  • Emmet Sheehan's World Series debut for the Dodgers on Friday saw him give up three earned runs in one-third of an inning when a bases-loaded jam led to a six-run inning — the Toronto Blue Jays won 11-4. The Darien native and former Boston College player was pulled from the game after not meeting expectations — leaving little room for recovery in his long-awaited return following Tommy John’s surgery.  The Hour
  • In Connecticut high school football Week 7, Nonnewaug stayed unbeaten with a 35—32 win over Notre Dame Prep on Oct. 23—25 as Robert Metcalfe threw a 29‐yard touchdown pass with 17 seconds left.
