EDUCATION NEWS

  • A Staples High School report shows that 93.4% of the Class of 2025 enrolled in 4-year colleges, while 2.0% enrolled in 2-year colleges and the rest took gap years, career paths, or military. The report said graduates applied to 369 institutions with a 61.5% acceptance rate—many planning to study business and economics amid evolving national college admission trends.  06880

  • On November 9, UConn women’s basketball unveiled its 12th national championship banner and beat Florida State 99 to 67, setting a new points record against the Seminoles — Sarah Strong, Azzi Fudd, and Kayleigh Heckel led the scoring.
