- ➤ On November 12, local groups met in front of the WCSA to unveil Queen of Hearts, a new sculpture made by Carole Eisner from scrap metal sourced from local junk yards. First Selectwoman Jennifer Tooker and card game organizers, along with singer Suzanne Sheridan and poet laureate Donna Disch, celebrated the art—its design welcomes seniors and card players. - ➤ Staples Players opened their 10-show run of Les Misérables last night while Westport's field hockey team plays Darien today and the boys soccer team will vie for a state title on Sunday. Cribari Bridge will host a holiday light ceremony at 6:30 p.m. this Sunday—and Bloodroot will close on December 21 after 48 years as local restaurants introduce new winter menus and community events continue across town. 06880

- ➤ Lava Sono, a new restaurant at 112 Washington St. in Norwalk, was opened on November 5 by childhood friends from Westport who bring years of restaurant experience. The restaurant serves Mediterranean dishes with Hispanic flair and has a speakeasy-style piano lounge—designed for an older crowd—and offers a 30% dine-in discount for teachers and city workers while its kitchen runs from noon to 11 p.m. and the bar stays open from noon to midnight.
