Good morning, Westport.

Many people are preparing for holiday travel as heavy traffic is expected on Connecticut highways and Bradley International Airport this week ahead of Thanksgiving—Triple A reports 772,000 vehicles will drive through the state and 95,000 will leave by air, while experts advise drivers to leave early because rain is forecast overnight on Tuesday and Wednesday.

A Wells Fargo study shows that prices for Thanksgiving groceries such as turkey, stuffing, and cranberries have dropped 3% from last year, easing cost pressures—while beer and whipping cream have not seen lower prices.

Westport psychologist Dr. Timothy Schmutte explained that many teenagers in town feel overwhelmed by high school demands and multiple extracurricular activities, which leave them feeling trapped on a never-ending treadmill.

He advises parents to watch for signs of overcommitment and consider professional help—steps that could ease the stress many teens face.

Pete Paguaga reviews Connecticut high school football teams' Thanksgiving rivalries in an article that covers both long-held matchups—such as Norwich Free Academy vs. New London—and new rivalry games scheduled for the holiday week.

He explains season stats and trends that shape the excitement of these traditional contests.
