- ➤ Troop 36 is selling 22-inch wreaths for $35 on December 7 at Saugatuck Congregational Church — pre-orders end December 1 — while Club203 hosts a holiday event for adults with disabilities at Westport Woman’s Club on December 17 at 6:30 p.m. Rozanne Gates will speak with Freda and Carleigh Welsh about 50 years of Levitt Pavilion concerts on December 4 at Westport Senior Center at 2:45 p.m. 06880
- ➤ Westport residents are still struggling with food insecurity after a government shutdown cut SNAP benefits and local groups provided food aid during Thanksgiving. The Department of Human Services said that as winter continues, additional help with heating and groceries will come + the Holiday Giving Program will soon support over 150 children and counting. 06880

- ➤ District officials and board members reviewed a school climate survey that showed only 43% of students like school while most parents and staff said they feel welcome—officials will use a longer survey in spring to guide improvements. Westport Journal
