- ➤ Frank Pepe’s Pizza will open this summer on Post Road West at the former Naan site and SoHo Pizza will debut at 22 Riverside Avenue beside Sunny Daes. The Orphenians Holiday Market will run Tuesday (Dec. 16, 6 to 8 p.m.) at Westport Woman’s Club with vendors and caroling. 06880

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Connecticut will raise its minimum wage from $16.35 to $16.94 on Jan. 1 due to a law that adjusts wages using the federal Employment Cost Index — the change will make the state's minimum wage the second highest nationwide. CTPost
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Connecticut health officials warn that rising cases in New York could signal a winter spike in illnesses in our state as indoor gatherings increase; they urge residents to get flu and COVID shots and follow measures like handwashing (and covering coughs) to prevent infections. WFSB
- ➤ Gov. Lamont will announce a new rule today at 10:30 a.m. that makes it easier for out-of-state nurses to transfer their licenses and help cut hospital wait times amid a nationwide shortage. WFSB
