  • Local Lebanese fast-casual restaurant NAYA will open its second Connecticut location in Westport on Dec. 17 — offering the first 50 guests a free bowl or roll plus a tote bag, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Dec. 22 at 10:30 a.m.  CTPost

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Westport Library will host the 20th annual MLK Day celebration on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 1 p.m. where renowned journalist Jelani Cobb will engage in conversation with local resident Trey Ellis to honor Dr. King's legacy.  06880

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Metro-North will change ticketing policies on January 4, with one-way tickets and new day passes expiring at 4 a.m. the day after purchase; the update also adds a $2 fee for unactivated digital tickets and a $1 fare for children ages 5 to 17 when traveling with an adult.  WFSB
  • The United States Postal Service said heavy snowfall that blocks mailbox access could delay mail delivery, so residents are urged to clear snow from curbs and walkways. District manager Josh Balcunas advised these steps to keep delivery routes safe for postal workers.  WFSB
