  • Harman International — a Stamford-based audio firm owned by Samsung — will acquire ZF’s driver-assistance business for nearly $2 billion. The deal, closing in the second half of 2026, will transition about 3,750 employees and boost Harman’s automotive expertise in the growing software-defined vehicle market.  CT Insider
  • Eversource (Connecticut's largest electric utility) has been named one of America's Most Responsible Companies by Newsweek for 2026 for the seventh year in a row, ranking 225 overall and 12 among energy and utilities, and serving 1.3 million customers across 157 communities.  CTPost

CULTURE NEWS

  • Netflix's final Stranger Things episode will stream on Wednesday at 8 p.m. and show in local theaters on Dec. 31, connecting Connecticut to the series. Connecticut native Gaten Matarazzo has starred as a key member since the show began.  CTPost
  • Drew McKeon, a Staples High School graduate touring with Seal, married Jessica Trainham in Darien a few weeks ago. The wedding featured Seal headlining (he waived his usual fee) and notable alumni and band members arriving from across the country.  06880

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Four northeastern governors, including Gov. Lamont, sent a letter asking Interior Secretary Doug Burgum to lift a federal pause on five offshore wind projects such as Revolution Wind while demanding a classified briefing on the national security concerns, which they say are a pretext affecting local economies.  CTPost

SPORTS NEWS

  • After coach Geno Auriemma challenged her to boost production, UConn forward Serah Williams has shown steady improvement, grabbing nine rebounds against USC in recent games. Auriemma said her enhanced rebounding and passing are crucial as she adjusts to a supporting role in upcoming Big East play.  CTPost
  • UConn women’s basketball, ranked No. 1, will face Butler at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Sunday, Dec. 28 at 4 p.m.—a game marking a homecoming for Indiana natives Ashlynn Shade and Ayanna Patterson.  The Hour
  • UConn football is preparing for the Wasabi Fenway Bowl today at Fenway Park in Boston where Army will be the opponent. The Huskies earned their berth by winning 9 of 12 regular season games and will have Skyler Bell play after Joe Fagnano opted out, with kickoff at 2:15 p.m.  WFSB
